Audoibooks purchased from Audible will not sync to iPhone in Catalina

Audoibooks I have purchased from Audible will not sync to iPhone X in Catalina.


My iTunes/Book id is a different from my Apple/Mac/iCloud id. (comcast.net vs mac.com). I changed my account sign ins for the new TV and Book apps and those items I bought do show up in the apps now but when I plug in my iPhone X and sync I get the message that the audiobooks are not sync'd because the computer (mac.com) is not authorized. Have to use the Audible app and download each audiobook to the phone thru that app. The Apple Book app for IOS is no longer useful for me. Any ideas on how to fix the syncing problem?

Same here. Infuriating. All my Audible Audiobooks were wiped from my device and I can't get them back on there.


For the record, I have one Apple ID for iCloud data and syncing, and a SEPARATE Apple ID for iTunes purchases.


Weirdly I never wanted two Apple IDs, but the way they handled MobileMe back in the day forced me to have two and they refuse to merge them for me.

I also had/have this problem. I got the error message that the computer was not authorised, though of course it was. I first deauthorized the audible account on the store menu. Then i clicked on an audiobook and asked me if I wanted to authorize. It opens browser windows on audible.com and after a few clicks, it worked and my books synced. Today, when my iphone synced I got the "not authorized" message again and the audiobooks were removed. Just went the whole process again with the same result. Now books are syncing.

Found where the Books library is on my iMac. It is 260GB on my 1TB iMac. I have not been able to find anyway to 'move' the library to my Drobo. That is where my music and movies/tv files are (currently 2.39TB used out of 5.44TB available) I moved that library years ago and iTunes never had a problem syncing them to my iPhone & iPad. Searched other forums and other people are having problems syncing their audiobooks. Lots of them also have the Books library taking up huge space because of large number of audiobook files.
