Catalina nags to use iCloud. I don't want it.

I do not want iCloud. In fact, cloud integration should be my choice and my choice of providers. How do I get Catalina to stop nagging me to sign in to iCloud. I already know I can sign in then uncheck all apps from using it. This is not an acceptable solution. MacOS needs to stop nagging. How can I make this stop?

To remove the badge enter the following in a terminal session.

defaults delete com.apple.systempreferences AttentionPrefBundleIDs

There are other options to restart the dock and to remove the iCloud preference pane, etc.

Thanks Eric. I don't have any faith in Apple's willingness to listen. I am 100% certain their thoughts are that I should just sign in to iCloud and use it. Their arrogant stance on "innovation can only come from within the company" oozes in everything they do. Like others, I am considering alternative computers and devices. I have been an avid fan of Apple since the early 80's having used the Apple II and above. I find that I am not as productive with them as I once was, however. I spend about 50% of my time with Linux and may just complete the transition for daily use. System76 and Pop!_os have my attention.

Click on name , phone and email enter the Apple ID password , once again fill up the credentials by clicking on edit , and click on save , in the same way for password and security section , once again enter the answers for security questions and save them , you have to once again verify all the options and update them , the notification will go away .

Don't use terminal commands posted on the internet articles .

I am having the same problem as well. I use iCloud on my main Mac, but not on my secondary Mac, I only sign in to the app store. I have no use for iCloud on that computer and since upgrading to Catalina I have a persistent nag telling me to use iCloud! My temporary solution was to just remove System Preferences from my dock because I got annoyed looking at that red dot!

The more I use Catalina the more it is giving me painful traumatizing flashbacks of using Windows Vista!
