iMessage Font

Recently updated to Catalina and my iMessages now contains a serif font that's nearly impossible to read on screen. I don't see any place in iMessage to change font stylings, simply sizes.

Has anyone else experienced this recently, or know of a fix?

Messages font size not working I would like to adjust the font size of my Messages on new Mac Mini, but the CMD + and CMD - keys are doing nothing at all. I've also tried going through the View menu to "Make text bigger" and again, there is effect. The key combinations work for other apps, so it is something unique to Messages. Apparently one cannot uninstall and reinstall Messages, which normally I would do to fix something like this. I'm not going to change screen size to change the font of one app, since it needs to work as designed, so please don't suggest that. I've logged in and out of Messages, but no change. This has been going on a while, not sure when it started, and I hoped 13.5 would fix it, but no go. Any ideas? Thanks.

text size in Apple Messages on Mac, Catalina 10.15.2 Since I upgraded to Catalina, the text size in Messages is smaller. I can't increase it in Preferences--the text size font is gray out. While I can select DEFAULT, the change doesn't take effect.

Hello msp419,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with Messages font on your Mac. You can change the text size in the General Preferences.

Messages > Preferences > General > Text size.

The "Text size" preferences setting SHOULD be labelled "Text font and size".

I originally ignored it because it only mentions size, but it's more than that.
