Where can I download a copy of OSX El Capitan?

I currently am stuck on El Capitan because of hard drive issues. Where can I download a copy of El Capitan so I can create a boot disk in case I need to recover the OS?

Thanks for the link, it does open in the app store but when I click the download button this error appears in a popup:

"This version of OS X 10.11 cannot be installed on this computer."

Is there some other way to download than clicking the download button? Why do I get the error?

As I said it will only appear in the Purchased section if you had downloaded it previously.

How did you get El Capitan in the first place.

What Mac do you have, what year is it. If the App Store recognises your Mac can upgrade to a newer OS than El Capitan then you are refused El Capitan.

What hard drive issues are you having, be sure to make regular backups, hard drives can fail at any time.

Have you ever downloaded El Capitan in the past, if so it should appear in the Purchased section of the App Store.

Looks like I had been signed out, when I signed in all the previous installs were listed like you described, and I was able to download the full El Capitan using the download button there. Thanks.
