I have a 2016 MacBook pro with Touch Bar and I updated to MacOS Catalina last night and after a few minutes of use it started to get glitchy and click out of things. For example if I right click on a folder the options gets “clicked out” like the cursor is clicking the background and also if a window is open it randomly clicks on and off of it. How can I resolve this?

If you start into safe mode or log in on another user, do you have the same issues with the trackpad?

Does it seem like the trackpad isn't responding correctly everywhere? Or only when performing certain tasks or using specific apps?
If it seems like the trackpad isn't being detected at all, you might also try to reset the SMC:
