I would like to "Save to My Shapes" some curly braces that I imported from Poewrpoint.
However, the menu options is greyed out.
Any ideas how I can still achieve this?
Or does anyone have an idea, _why_ the menu item is greyed out?
As far as I can see, the curly brace is really just a curved line consisting of some control points.

The menu item is greyed out because the bracket not a vector shape but has been converted by Keynote to an image, only vector shapes can be added to "my shapes".
Instead, place a text box on the slide and press the keyboard key for one of the bracket symbols, then position size and colour as required.
It can't be added to shapes as it is a text object, but it can be added instantly by pressing the keyboard key
I have discovered that lines of any kind, and as brackets are a type of line, they can't be saved to "My Shapes"
As mentioned previously I use brackets using a text box and they work fine for me.
I don't understand your comment that they look massive - just size it to the point size that you need.

But, I don't think my imported curly brace is an image: I can right-click on it, and make it Editable;
But I still cannot add it to My Shapes.
I have tried the version where you create a text box with a text brace, and then scale this up by a huge font size, but that looks way too massive.
