unable to connect iphone to macos catalina

This happened to me last night; the computer said I needed to reset the phone to factory. I was suspicious, and called Apple Support, who indicated that my iMac needed a version update (no notice of a software update had come in to the computer, btw). I also found that there was a software update for my iPhone (also that had not yet been served to the phone). Once I updated everything, I was back in business. It was very frustrating, though -- and annoying that the original error message would have been totally unnecessary.

I actually just tried a different port, and now it works fine. I guess the first two ports I tried didn’t work. Still

stupid that something so silly

I observed the same issue when connecting using iPhone 11 latest IOS and MacBook Air with Catalina latest OS update.

Iphone 11 shows up in finder for a couple second and then disappears. Very frustrating.

All my devise are updated but still have the same problem, as soon i have time i will try to restore the phone, i am very upset since my phone is new
