Help! I can't search comments and/or groupings in Catalina Music!

I have a decade's worth of music arranged by Grouping and extensively notated by Comments in iTunes. I have nearly 8000 albums that I suddenly can't search after my switch to Music! I only use my own server as a Library, and I've only ever ripped my own CDs. I've never bought anything from the iTunes store (because I don't care for MP3s.)

This is basic database stuff—as elementary as computing can get. Why Apple would bury this, I don't know. Can somebody point be to the place Apple have hidden it! I'm really lost without it.

In the Songs view make sure that the comments and grouping fields are enabled, then use View > Show Filter Field and use that to search within your library.

You'll have to use Product Feedback - Apple to let Apple know you'd like the filter preference to be sticky. Annoys me too.

Excellent! Thank you Turingtest2!

I had everything selected in Songs, but I didn't know about the new Filter Field.

As a half-step further on: Do you know of a way to keep Filter Field permanently on and available? It disappears after every search, which is a pain I'll eventually get used to I suppose, but it hampers my workflow a little just now.

SUPER helpful... like you folks, I wish it would stay there, too. I guess we'll just have to get accustomed to using that three-key function to make it appear. :) Thanks, all!
