Can the Apple Watch Series 5 be tracked?

Hello. I’m looking at buying the Apple Watch series 5. My main reason for buying is for my fitness. Running etc

I see you can have Find My Friends on it, but I’m wondering if my friends can track my watch? So if I’m out running, they can track my location, just like you can on iPhone? Thanks in advance, look forward to any ideas!
