Hi. Yesterday (after upgrading to macos Catalina) i recorder the screen using quicktime. The rec was about 1h, after that i pressed the stop button on the upper menubar.
Nothing was saved and i was unable to find the video on macos.
I did the same thing today. About 3 h trying lost.
I fear there a serious bug on the new quicktime screen recording feature.
Anyone else?

Look in System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive, click on Options and if there is a checkmark next to QT remove it.

I get in contact with Apple care. I was able to riproduce the bug and they submitted to Apple engineers. They confirmed the bug and they are working on a fix.
just to talk: is this happening with an iMac Pro?
i think the latest upgrade o catalina fixed it. Can u try?
I have the same problem on both an iMac Pro and also a Mac Mini since upgrading to Catalina.
It is an intermittent problem. It sometimes works correctly, sometimes truncates the recording and sometimes does not offer to save when the Stop button is pressed.
Is there an ETA on when a fix from Apple will be available?
Yes, this is a known issue. Very problematic. I have been working with apple engineering team for almost two months with no significant progress. We tried everything before submitting a disk image to engineering.

I have record a 20 minutes video but it record only 5 minutes.
Happened since I upgraded to Catalina
I'm on a macbook pro. same thing is happening to me. No sound. no sound. no sound. this is such a stupid thing to happen. fix the **** thing.
FWIW, in Catalina it would be System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive
Good to know, but likely that is not the problem judging by the log file the OP posted which I hadn't seen.
EDIT: Never mind that is a different user who posted the log file.
