Comma and period missing again / iOS 13.1.2

Since the last update, the comma and period have disappeared on my iPad Mini 4 in landscape mode. In portrait mode they reappear...

OK... so I just found an old post where someone commented that they were able to fix this bug in iOS 12 by enabling "key flicks" in the keyboard settings. That worked...
