Pencil 2 suddenly not working at an angle

I've been using my Pencil 2 with iPad Pro (12.9", 3rd generation) and it's worked great in all drawing/writing apps. Both were purchased recently, same day, same Apple Store. Suddenly, with the latest update (13.1.2), my Pencil no longer registers when used at any kind of angle. It only works in a near straight up and down position to the screen. The iPad recognizes that it's paired, charged, etc. and the pressure of the Pencil works accordingly, it just no longer translates to the screen when held at a natural angle. I reset my iPad and have tried forgetting/repairing the Pencil to no avail. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks
