Now that current iPhoto version won't open, how do I get my photos downloaded?

Won't open. Says 'Not Supported' with Catalina. iPhotos app is no longer supported, the Photos app is just fine.
I don't know how to get photos out of old 'iPhotos'. I guess I have to contact the developer.

Launch Photos with the Option key held down, navigate to the Pictures folder, and choose it.
