Skype login issue on iPhone 11 with esim

It seems after switching to an eSim on my iPhone 11 Skype doesn‘t let me sign in via my data plan. I can log in via Wifi, turn Wifi off and use Skype on my data plan, I can also sign out of Skype using my mobile data plan but when I try to sign in all I get is a red banner on top saying “Unable to sign in, please check your internet connection and try again”. 

Other apps are working fine.I’m not even sure if that is the cause but it’s the only thing that changed. Anybody have any pointers?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand you're unable to sign in with your Skype account since you switched to an eSIM on your iPhone 11. I can help point you in the right direction.


You've done an excellent job so far by isolating this behavior with Skype. I recommend opening the App Store on your iPhone to see if there's a possible pending update for Skype. In addition, you'll want to follow the steps outlined in this helpful article: If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open These are relevant steps to help troubleshoot Skype.
