How do I turn off sound while editing a movie in iMac?

While editing clips I can hear the video when I drag mouse across clips in iMovie. Happens on iMac but not my MacBook Pro. How do I turn off? I don't want to turn off my volume completely just annoying to hear the clips as I drag my mouse over clips.
