I received a SMS, stating "Your Apple ID Verification Code is : xxxxxx" but I was not accessing to my Apple ID at all when this SMS came in. Not even on any apps on phone.
I just want to know if there could be a security breach attempt by a 3rd party?

Someone attempting to sign into your Apple ID could have caused you to receive the code. As a precaution, you might want to change your password.
What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support I suggest doing this before you change your Apple ID or password.
