Dashboard stickies disappeared, following a crash, after upgrading to Catalina having already opened them in Stickies.

HELP!!! I have some really important stuff saved on about 15 stickies notes which were previously on dashboard. After the upgrade to Catalina, I read all the support docs stuff and found the restored stickies app which had all my old dashboard post it notes.

I carefully sorted through them and put them on a second spaces area laid out, like they had been in the defunct dashboard. Then, horror, I had a crash, caused I think by the new Music app and when I restarted, stickies automatically opened but there was only one blank sticky and all my old, essential notes had gone.

Any ideas? Might they be hidden in some restore folder? I'm really stuffed without them.

I use backblaze to back up but I doubt it has a copy of them.

Thanks all.

James

Hi James,

It sounds like you're missing some content from Stickies, and I want to help.

Do you use Time Machine with your Mac?

You may be able to restore older versions of the files there if that's the case.

See here:

Back up your files with Time Machine on Mac - Apple Support

The files for your Stickies are saved at:

/Users/[your_name]/Library/Containers/com.apple.Stickies/Data/Library/Stickies

Good luck!
