Samsung Space 32 Compatibility with MacBook Pro 2019

MacBook Pro 2019 along with the Apple USB-C AV adapter should support 60Hz refresh rate. But when I connect them to my Samsung Space 32 monitor, I get a refresh rate of only 30Hz at 3840x2160 resolution. The option that allows you to change the refresh rate in Display Preferences is grayed out and stuck at 30Hz. The firmware of my monitor as well as the OS (Mojave - 10.14.6) are up-to-date. Is there some setting that I have overlooked? Or is there a compatibility issue between these monitors and MacBook Pros?

The Mac decides the Name and capabilities of any display you connect by sending a query to which the display must respond or it stays dark.

The réponse is used to set the name of the display in those windows -- I know you did not type it in but there it is, as the name of the window is Displays preferences. And to set the parameters based on what the display says are its capabilities.

Inability to set any resolutions or refresh rates are based on what the display says are it capabilities -- it told the Mac it could do this resolution at this refresh rate. If there are no other choices, the display said it has no more to give (using THIS interface).

MacBook Pro supports 60 Hz on DisplayPort displays using ThunderBolt-3 or third-party adapters

The Apple USB-C digital AV multipart adapter supports:

3840x2160 at 60Hz on:

iPad Pro 11-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd Generation), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017 and later), iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017 and later), iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017 and later), and iMac Pro (2018)

That display appears to have a Mini DisplayPort input.
