Why won't Adobe Creative Cloud install with Catalina? How to fix?

I just recently updated my OS to Catalina (and the recent update 10.15), and since then purchased a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud suite. However, the installer for CC stops at 25% and won't go further. I hear rumours about Catalina and CC not yet being compatible. Is there anyone that has found a solution?

I started the Catalina install/upgrade, and before it would proceed, the installer messaged me that the Adobe Creative Cloud 2019 apps I use would not be compatible with Catalina, so I quit the install. Will have to wait until Adobe gets their act together! Also the Reminders app on my phone (iOS 13.1.3) won't be compatible with my mac until I install Catalina...soooo...waiting game...

I have this problem too. I cleaned all my old adobe software from my HD, but it still stops at 21.5%. Adobe support had me do a number of things including turning off Norton, Adobe clean and much more, but still it stops. After over an hour, I was then told it was Apple's problem, contact them. Apple has too much security.

including turning off Norton

That'll be the source of the problem. Remove it as per maker's instructions. Also remove any other anti-virus apps. "cleaning" apps or any other junk you've installed.

Apple has too much security.

No, they don't. Why doesn't everyone else have the problem if it's an Apple security issue?

Adobe told me Apple had too much security

Some grunt on a phone line told you that? Hardly Adobe's own position, given how often they're still updating software for security problems.

I did turn off Norton, still a problem

Don't turn it off, get rid of it and any similar apps

I see from a number of sites that some are having this issue and some are not.

If this was an issue with Apple having "too much security" it would affect everybody. It doesn't. Therefore the issue is elsewhere.

I guess I miss spoke, I actually got a hold of Norton, they walked me through the process of getting rid of it, then we tried the install again, same problem, then they walked me through the process of re-installing Norton again.

I do not know if Apple has "too much security" or not, all I know is the Adobe CC install does not work, nor the Adobe Photoshop install, or any number I tried without Norton. This thread and ones on Adobe talk about other users having the same issues. It might be Adobe or it might be Apple. The install works on 10.14 but not on 10.15. I cannot go back to 10.14 and I do not want to keep moving files from my production iMac (10.15) to my PowerBook (10.14), work on the file, then move it back!

I am just trying to find a solution. The solutions on Adobe's site do not work for me. Maybe someone at Apple that works with Adobe has a solution.

I also got this error like others did too:

“Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.app” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Sometimes it works, other times it gets the error above.

Well I can tell you that it does install on 10.15, as I have installed it on two machines, and have exactly the same amount of "too much security" as you do.

Again, issues with applications are issues for the makers of the application. Put another way, Apple build the road, Adobe have to make sure their vehicles fit the road, not the other way round.
