Renewing apple care+?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to renew the apple care+ when you have bought 24months outright?

I just called apple and was told it wasn’t possible, which is contradictory to the advice on their website saying that it is possible to renew on a monthly basis, but other than calling their misinformed staff which won’t let me renew I don’t know how else it is possible to do this!

Any help much appreciated!

On that First Link, I Povided: AppleCare+ Terms & Conditions, scroll down to:

2. Plan Term and Renewal

It Contains:

For Single-Pay Plans, your Plan Term is two (2) years (or three (3) years for Apple Watch Edition or Hermès). Apple is not obligated to renew your Single-Pay Plan. If Apple does offer to renew, Apple will determine the price and terms.

You need to take this up with Apple. Here, we are all Apple Users. You are not talking with Apple here — you are using a User-to-User forum. Nobody here has any overcall in this — nobody, whomsoever. Moreover, Apple barely reads these forums.

So, to move forward with this, consider contacting Apple Support directly on this, using the below information. They’ll know what’s going on and why, when it comes to your AppleCare+ options..

Unfortunately I’m based in the UK and I can’t seem to find anything about it, anytime I search in apple I get redirected to the US site

Thank you for clarifying that. With that being said, try this site:

AppleCare+ Keyfacts — United Kingdom (excluding Isle of Man and Channel Islands): https://www.apple.com/uk/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplus/docs/applecareplus_uk_kfd.html

On that site, where it mentions about filing complaints, there are two eMail addresses:

  • complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk

  • info@fspo.ie

Try contacting Apple about renewals via those two eMail addresses, and see what the replies are. There is plenty of contact information provided on that site.

Hi camillefromhorsham,

I wanted to provide some additional resources regarding your question, as it also depends on your location.

This article has some great information that may be helpful: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210580

“In the United States, when you purchase AppleCare+ coverage for your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you can choose to pay monthly or pay upfront for 24 months of coverage. (For Apple Watch Edition and Hermes, you can pay upfront for 36 months.) If you paid upfront, you can renew coverage on a monthly basis after the 24 or 36 months is over.”

Thank you!

The renew monthly option is currently only available in the US. Whether Apple will offer this in other countries is unknown by us users. but by virtue of the fact you are in the UK, you were given correct information by Apple UK. I say this because I wrote a User Tip about AppleCare+ and verified with Apple this only applies to the US at this time.
