I know my watch is charged; but the face is black. It reacts when I get a phone call, email, or text message.

Reset your Watch by pressing in the crown and side button until you see the Apple logo, then release both.
Thank you for the suggestion. But that did not solve my problem.
I spoke to Apple support and they thought the watch needs to be looked at by a tech. That will cost $169 plus shipping costs. Since my watch is series 3, I am thinking of getting a series 5.
