I have damaged an external device (a stick) and would like to restore the files on my MacBook from Backup. When I enter TimeMachine I cannot find the name of the external device. What do I have to do?
OS 10.11.6 El Capitan
MacBook Pro 13"
Backup with TimeMachine
It is a memory stick. I did run disk utility. I have found it and could restore the lost information.

What is selected in Sys Prefs>Time Machine>Select Disk?
TimeMachine is selected, name is : HD250 Time Machine
What is the "stick" about?
Have you trid Disk Utility to run First Aid on HD250 Time Machine?
