Using iPad Pro to present Google Slides presentations
Our company uses G Suite for office applications and this means presentations are done with Google Slides. With iPad Pro and iPad OS 13 I’m able to edit the presentations and other documents with Safari in full desktop view well enough to leave my heavier laptop home on most of the days.
But presentations with Google Slides become an issue.
If I use HDMI adapter I can mirror my screen to display but the presentation view through Safari doesn’t utillize the full 16:9 screen, instead there’s black bars on sides too.
If I use Google Slides app to present, it works as it should. But if I have Slides app installed, it doesn’t allow me to edit the presentation in Safari, instead it opens the Slides app when I try to edit the presentation.
Currently I have two options, neither of them is satisfactory:
- Install Slides App every time I need to present with my iPad and remove it if I want to edit the presentation through Safari.
- Export presentation from Google Slides and open it with Keynote. Then if I need to go back to the presentation to make changes, I need to export it again.
Is there any way to keep editing the Google Slides presentation with Safari AND be able to present the Slides in external monitor in full 16:9 ratio?
