i accidentally clicked a bad link will i get a virus

I accidentally clicked on a sketchy link. It opened a new tab which I immediately closed before it could fully load anything. The URL was a random string of letters though. I immediately ran Malwarebytes, which found nothing, but I am still extremely worried that I have a virus.
