How to set quicktime as default player since Catalina update

Since Catalina update cannot set quicktime as default player on my macbook pro. Apple site says:

Once open, click Edit > Preferences, and then click QuickTime Preferences.

"Preference" is just not showing as an option in "edit"

Other sites say: right click quicktime>get info>open with

On my macbook pro there IS NO "open with"

So neither method works for me and so cannot set Quicktime as default!

Hoping someone knows how its done in Catalina?

Select a video file (compatible with QuickTime of course) in Finder -> File -> Get Info. In the Info panel choose Open with: -> Select Quick Time -> Change All...

Have you tried Apple -System Preferences= CDs & DVDs and changing there? Just a thought.
