It is no longer being supported.
Doesn't mean it has stopped working and doing everything it has been doing for you right along!
The ONLY thing I would recommend is maybe just switching to a third party Web browser that get regularly updated regardless of what iOS version an iDevice is running, because the iOS 12 version of Safari on that iPad will NOT recieve any more updates and will become unsecure after some time.
Other than that, that iPad Air should still do everything it is doing now.
Third party apps should stay supported for it for another few years, or so.
My own 7 and 8 year old iPads are still getting a fairly large percentage of third party app updates.
So, your much newer iPad Air should continue to get regular third party app updates for some time.
