I can't update my old iPad with new security updates.

I understand old iPads wont often update due to storage or Apps are newer but I am concerned about security with the old software not getting the newer security updates.

Is there a way to at least get the security part of the update pushed to the iPad. I am concerned about the latest 14 update not being available.

If not, does that mean that I can no longer safely use my iPad for anything that would connect to the internet?
