we were just wondering with the AirPort Extreme A1521 is compatible with the fibre nbn connection as when we try to install it it couldn’t read the signal from nbn. Do we need another modem to be connected?

You should just set the Airport router to DHCP on Internet tab.
If you fail to get IP address doing this.. ring iinet support and ask them if you need to use PPPOE as they do not have uniform configuration in all areas around Australia.

Unfortunately iinet internode and few others were taken over by TPG and they are slowly reaming out the better companies for their own systems.
If you previously had a PSTN phone service which you moved to ISP you will be forced to use their supplied router.

The problem in Australia is the ISP can use several different methods of connection as well as the stupid Multimode technology by NBN..
So what type of NBN connection are you on.. eg FTTP, FTTN, HFC or FTTC.
Who is your ISP? (now called RSP.. retail rather than Internet since NBN is internet provider for all retail service providers).
