How can i snap to a (custom) alignment guide?

I'm making a presentation and first thing to do for me is to adjust alignment guidelines so it fits my content. Problem is that the alignment guides I'm adding don't let me snap text boxes etc. to it. I've read the instructions from Apple but there's nothing on turning on/off snap to guidelines (or snap to custom guidelines). The only guidelines the app lets me snap to is the invisible mid guideline.

I need to be able to snap to my custom guidelines in order to make a presentation that works to my preferences.
