Apple corded earbuds not working on iPhone 11

I bought an iPhone 11 3 weeks ago, and my corded earbuds have just started malfunctioning. They will stop playing music and a high pitched ringing noise comes out. Once I press play, the music won’t play through the headphones, and the control buttons on the earbuds stop working. Is there any way to fix this?

Check the charging port for lint or other debris and see this:

If your headphones don‘t work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
