paste rows into table

This is probably a stupid question but I am trying to paste a number of rows into a table in Pages. But Pages keeps sticking everything in 1 cell instead of each cell from the source into a different cell in the table in Pages. In other words I have say 67 cells in a row in numbers and I am trying to paste them into a tanle I have in a Pages document but it isn't pasting them as rows.

Only single-click the first cell. Do not double-click it, which puts you into cell text insert mode. With a single-click you can paste onto that first cell, and Pages will auto-expand the table's rows and columns to match the pasted content.
