Photo Booth will not record video.

It will only take photos. I had used it to videotape guitar playing so I could see where I made mistakes. Reinstalled El Capitan after a hard drive started to fail. Used migration assistant to transfer everything over. The only thing that I have not reinstalled is photoshop CS6. It was also giving me some grief. Tried to record video using the built in iSight camera via Photo Booth, iMovie, Quicktime. No luck. Before I reinstalled the OS, it would work after a reboot for a while then stop. I could never figure out what was causing it. Now it just will not record video at all. I posted this question earlier and pretty sure I did that wrong. I'm new at asking for help. I can usually sort it out. Thanks in advance for any input.
