"Settings" won't stay open for more than a few seconds

I recently allowed the Apple update to install on my iPad 2. I can't tell you which update it was because I can't get the "Settings" to stay open for more than a few seconds.

Any thoughts?

I've shut it off and on many times. I've done the "hard reset" multiple times. All to no success. If you touch the "Settings" icon, it opens settings for a few seconds and then shuts it. This device has worked fine without any issues for years. It charges properly and it can be used normally except for "Settings"

Very frustrating and is eroding my faith in Apple products. Maybe worry less about an Apple streaming service and get the devices to work properly after updating (you know...YOUR CORE BUSINESS!)

If you have the iPad 2, the last update was to 9.3.6 and that was only for cellular iPads. If you never updated to iOS 9.3.5, that may have been the latest for you. However, if you have been using this device regularly for years as you say, I’m sure it was updated to iOS 9.3.5 some years ago.

No clue if this will work, but did you try force closing the settings app and then force restart the iPad? Something got corrupted and the settings app is crashing on you.
