Best web host for OS X

Hi,

I am from Canada and I need a web mail service for my business domain name. Actually, I don't need a website hosting. My needs are quite small and simple and webmail is the only service I need as for now.

I know there are many options out there, but they don't seem to be of equal quality and also not all very user friendly with OS X's Mail app.

Can you help me point out a few of the very good ones ? That would help me.

I am actually with Fatcow and am experiencing flaws with the webmail service.

Thanks. I already have my domain name.

I want to find a reliable host that works with OS X's Mail app. There seem to be differences for each host to display their folders in Mail.

Actually, I am with FatCow and have been experiencing problems that they don't seem to be able to fix.

So my question now is: Who are the reliable hosts for Mail's app to work with ?

Mail is an email client, as is Outlook, ThunderBird, etc. These email clients abide by email protocols. Email servers also abide by protocols. It is not clear why you would think one server is better than another, they all serve email. Now if you want to know which email service offers the best security, online storage space, filtering, most free accounts, etc. then check with each email provider for their offerings.

You mention problems but you don't specify what those problems are so it is impossible to say if they are caused by the email provider or whether or not you would experience the same problems with another provider.

Well ... If this can make a difference. While I have been without any problem for a few years, email have been flaky recently. Sent email receive 4 days later or not at all is a real problem. Discrepancy between Fatcow's web mail page and my Mail app's content is another.

I called them. They acknowledge a server problem but no real transparency. So I was not able to understand their problem, and mostly when it would be resolved.

Yesterday I called. The Customer Service realized tha there was a problem. Tech support was suppose to call back. I only receive a text message telling that after verification on their side there is no problem and if I had some problem to call them back another time (4th).

In fact, I only want my problem to be solved. That is the only reason for requesting a clear reference for a special host service to clear this out.

You can get Office 365 e-mail for $11/month. That’s a genuine Exchange server with all the bells and whistles, for good or bad. It is what I use. Apple has better support for Exchange servers than for any other type of server, including its own iCloud servers.

The nice part about this small business service is that you can hook it into your domain name. That way, you don’t have to deal with forwarding or “reply-to” nonsense. Your domain has real e-mail, hosted by Microsoft itself.

I suggest easydns (https://easydns.com) for the domain name. They are Canadian too.
