iCloud woos

When in iCloud and selecting photos, I try to drag them to another folder on my desktop but it only drags a clipping - in other words, I want to save my photos from iCloud to a hard drive

how can I move photos in the folders of Icloud to photos? I have thousands of photos in different folders in icloud. I want to move all of them to photos. Can I do this movement at the cloud level? I did download all of these photos on my mac and import them to photos, and the photos started uploading these to cloud again. This takes ages. There must be a way to move these photos at the cloud from icloud to photos.

Placing photos from Icloud Drive into Icloud Photos? Hello, I have a load of photos in a folder in my icloud drive, which i'd like to move to into my icloud Photos storage. I can't see any way of doing this? Any help appreciated! Thanks Evie
