Any one come across the dynamic panel app

Earlier today I noticed an application running on my home iMac called dynamic panel. Investigating it further I located the app in safari extensions. Has anyone come across this app at all?

You may  have adware/malware installed. Try downloading this program which was written by Thomas R, a long time poster. The program will search for malware/adware. The program will do the work for you which makes it easy. It may be necessary to run more than one scan. After running the scans, restart the computer.

I have it too and it's crashing my computer, possibly causing outgoing email server problems as well. When I googled it, it seems like a virus/malware? But I don't totally trust these too - sometimes I think people create malware and then promote a virus cleaner to remove it so it forces you to buy their product...

I have this problem also. It also has some other cousins which I unfortunately do no remember their exact names, but behave in the exact manner as Dynamic Planner. It has been going on for some time. If you are working on your iMac, you will know it is occurring when a blank screen pops up and you cannot use the keyboard or mouse. I have taken to quickly forcing my MacBook to shut down by holding down the power button. I then power it back up and immediately go into Finder and delete the DynamicPanel.app. I then go into Safari and make sure the Extension is deleted. Again, there are a handful of other viruses which behave exactly like this. After deleting the file, I am good for several hours before it re-appears. It sucks and I would love to know how to permanently stop it without re-installing MacOS or whatever the operating system is now called. HELP!

I have this same issue. In extensions there is option to uninstall but this does not work. I then deleted the app using finder and removing from the applications folder. But in a short time the application is back. I could reset safari using Apples recommend steps but then it is like first time use of safari and everything remembered is then gone. I would prefer a more direct way of removing this app permanently without fully resetting Safari completely.

larryfromdeltona: Let me start by saying I am not an experienced forum person, so if I violate protocol, gently let me know and try to improve. I posted yesterday and was hoping for a simple fix. Since this is a new thread, I guess itg doesn't get much exposure. The malware problem on my MacBook became infinitely worse in about 12 hours. I did a very small amount of homework on malware removal tools and decided on CleanMyMac, as it seemed to be positively reviewed across many sites. The "homework" process was hard, as Safari became slower and slower, I switched to using FireFox and my research was better. I am not going to switch permanently to FireFox, as like you, I am heavily invested in Safari. It was nice to have a back-up tool in FIreFox. While CleanMyMac has a free version, like most free versions, it does very little and you have to purchase a license. Since I have not slept in the past 36 hours, I threw in my $35 and hoped for the best. CleanMyMac found three instances of malware and cleaned them. I also used it to do a full system scan and it cleaned up a lot of useless files and allowed me to review start-up and login apps which are utterly unnecessary, like Adobe stuff. I have been working for about an hour and the difference is night and day. My MacBook screams and Safari has froze on me so far. I do not work for CleanMyMac, and have no reason to spiff them other than with a very limited trial time, the product seems to work. While I am a general contractor, I have a BS in Computer Science from Duke. Having a background in working with computing systems, I felt comfortable making decisions about the removal of start-up and login apps. I tell you this so you can judge your own level of comfort in making these same decisions if you buy the product. I am going to use my MacBook for a few days and post an update with my results. I feel your pain and wish you the best. I hope this helps.

Since my first post I'm able to report that my iMac is now running normally and appears adware/malware free. I followed Eric's advice and installed and ran the Malwarebytes program (free version) which seems to have done the trick. Thanks to all who offered support and solutions to my problem.
