I'm one of the person whos being affected with new update 13.1. I'm getting no service due to the new update. I logged in to iTunes on my desktop and trying to update my phone. my phone is already backed-up so I want to unselect back up but its not letting me. I only want to update
any suggestions of the steps to do at home?

You also mentioned not being able to update through iTunes without backing up. Take a look at the steps here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If you don't want your iPhone to back up when you connect it to iTunes, select the option to back up through iCloud. Selecting that option will not create an iCloud backup.
