for running your own app on your device you have to register that device in the apple developer backend. therefore you need the device UDID.
you can find the UDID when you connect your iPhone to your macOS Catalina mac:
=> Finder
=> Select you iPhone in the sidebar
=> Tab 'General'
=> Click on the text that is shown below your device name
Then the text changes ans will show additional infos like UDID, serial number, ...

...weird blanket statement. You need your UDID if you want to register a new device for use with an Apple Developer account, and it's not as transparent to find as it used to be when you update to Catalina.
problem solved thank you
yes I use Catalina
but the locations is hiding and it can't show something inside it
I think apple has to fix this issue
its really not clear and confusing
thanks for help mate
I think there are millions facing same issue and cannot know where to manage their devices with the new Mac OS
If there were millions facing the same issue there would be thousands of posts. This is a problem with your Mac, not a generic problem for all or most Macs.

You need to connect the phone to iTunes (Or Finder if you have a Mac with Catalina).
There is almost never a need to know your UDID unless you are planning to do something really foolish.
I stand by my comment. Anyone who develops their own app knows this. It’s only people about to do something stupid who need to be told.
hello
its weird we cannot find the itunes in the new version and we cannot find the iphone in the finder app !!! what is the solution
any one can help sending screenshot how to find my device in finder in the side bar ?
First, do you have Mac OS Catalina? If not you use iTunes. For Catalina plug in the phone using a USB cable and it should appear under Locations. It may take a few seconds. If it doesn’t try restarting your Mac. If you have an antivirus turn it off.
iTunes has been renamed. It is now Music.
