for running your own app on your device you have to register that device in the apple developer backend. therefore you need the device UDID.

you can find the UDID when you connect your iPhone to your macOS Catalina mac:

=> Finder

=> Select you iPhone in the sidebar

=> Tab 'General'

=> Click on the text that is shown below your device name

Then the text changes ans will show additional infos like UDID, serial number, ...

  1. Connect your phone to your Mac with Catalina
  2. Launch Finder
  3. Click on your phone in Finder under Locations in the side bar (if you don't see the side bar on the left click on the View menu/Show Sidebar)
  4. On the Summary screen that appears click on the line below the phone's name (click on the phone model)
  5. View the serial number, UDID and model code

First, do you have Mac OS Catalina? If not you use iTunes. For Catalina plug in the phone using a USB cable and it should appear under Locations. It may take a few seconds. If it doesn’t try restarting your Mac. If you have an antivirus turn it off.

iTunes has been renamed. It is now Music.
