Ipad mini 2 very slow

I'm still using my iPad mini 2 which is updated to the latest ios 12.

The device reacts slow till very slow since a long time and I never found a reason. All i know, it was never this slow when I bought is.

This week i found a cpu monitor application on it and even when i close all running apps, the IPad is always burning 10 till 15% cpu time. I'm a computer programmer and I'm not used to this.

I reinstalled it one via ITunes and all apps where installed again after I logged on with my apple ID.

So that did not solved the issue.

Is this high cpu usages when idle normal for an IPad or is this causing the bad response?

It is a shame, but the newer features require more memory that the Mini 2 doesn't have. It's inevitable program bloat. All older computers lose speed as new programs and operating systems place ever increasing demands on them.

When I bought my Mini 2, it was already a 2-year old design and a "good deal". I've gotten a good 4 years out of it. I'm ready for a new one. I waste a good 10 minutes a day waiting for it to do the things I require of it and that's too long. My iPad Pro is still pretty snappy, but it will be ready for retirement in two years or so. When it does, the new Mini will still be going strong and I will have something that I can depend on to do the work. The Pro is great for videos, but too big for mundane tasks (smallish hands), so I likely won't replace it. The Mini is perfect for most tasks and all I really need.
