nsurlsessiond - nothing is making it stop!

I have researched the issue of nsurlsessiond eating up bandwidth and have applied all of the suggested solutions and it is still using up mysterious bandwidth.

I never use iCloud on any of my devices. It is turned off in Photos and Photos is turned off in iCloud. There is only 10mb of data in my iCloud account.

I have turned off "Allow Spotlight Suggestions in Look up"

I have all auto updates in Software Update turned off.

I have installed UBlock Origin to block ads and tracking in my browser.

So far today I have watched nsurlsessiond eat 1GB of my very limited data in a couple of hours.

Mojave

Please make it stop :(

Sign out of iCloud and test.

Sign back into iCloud and test.

>System Preferences>iCloud

you can also trouble shoot further:

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and test.

Reboot as normal.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
