Can't update my iphone 4s to ios 9

I downloaded the ios file but it says that the firmware is not compatible

No. You can't. iOS 7 is the end of the line. If you had apps installed previously, they would have continued to work fine. After erasing the phone, the apps have to be re-downloaded from the App Store. Unfortunately, the app developer no longer makes it available for older versions of iOS.

That phone is obsolete. It is now 6 major versions behind in iOS updates. It was discontinued in 2013.

It's time for a new phone.

You don't have an iPhone 4s, you have an iPhone 4.

You can't update any further.

From where did you obtain the update file?

What is the existing version of iOS?

I'm using itunes because my phone says it has the last ios version

I don't remember, maybe in a tutorial website that helps to update the iphone

how is that possible? before deleting all files, I was able to use WhatsApp, for example.

Now I can't even download it.

Can I upload at least at ios 8?
