Buying Apple Tv

I see Apple just announced we can get Apple TV free for a year if we buy an new Apple devise...Phone, iPad, MAC and Apple TV....I'm ready to buy the Apple TV 4K but do I have to buy it directly from Apple or can I buy it from a second party, ex. Costco, Best Buy...ect
