Can’t hear voicemail messages

I have an iPhone SE with the latest operating system, 13, and for many years I have never been able to hear my Voicemail Messages. I have my volume on max. When I see the keypad for entering in phone numbers, there’s no option that shows up with the speaker icon, as there is with all other kinds of calls. I have searched your chat boards extensively, and still don’t see an answer. Would welcome help.

I recommend going through the troubleshooting in these three help articles:

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support

If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn't clear on your iPhone - Apple Support

If your iPhone is stuck in headphone mode - Apple Support

Also, along with headphone mode, please verify if your device is paired to any bluetooth headphones or other handsfree devices. Thanks and have a wonderful day.
