Mojave vs. Catalina

I am running macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6 on my MacBrook Pro 15 inch 2018. Firstly, can I upgrade to macOS Catalina? Should I upgrade to Catalina or stay with macOS Mojave?

Catalina only opens apps that are written in 64bit code, the new OS drops support for 32bit apps,

to check for any 32bit apps you have at the moment run this app, https://www.stclairsoft.com/Go64/

This will produce a list of your 32bit apps, you can then search the developers website to see if

they are providing 64bit updates or alternatives.

Make sure to back up your Mojave system (as I'm sure you're aware) You can go back to it if you're not ready for Catalina yet.

I was hesitant as well. I'm taking the plunge and doing a clean install of Catalina. I plan to add Mojave to a 2nd volume since I only have one 32 bit app I use regularly. (and it's a video game— and I should probably give it up anyway)

Good luck/Have fun!
