I know Apple has a policy of 14 days for returning an item, I though I left my charger at home so I bought a new one and then found it.

Can you also return a charger to an apple store?

You should be able to, yes. The only exclusions to the 14-day return policy are the following:

Opened software
Electronic Software Downloads
Software Up-to-Date Program Products (software upgrades)
Apple Store Gift Cards
Apple Developer products (membership, technical support incidents, WWDC tickets)
Apple Print Products
