Microsoft word keeps freezing when I try to edit a document;
this only happened since Catalina was installed one day ago
What are the solutions to stop this?
Is getting rid of Catalina and going back to Mohave a good option?
Same here, on MacBook Pro 15" mid 2015.
Temporarily "solved" by downgrading to Word 16.29.1 and disabling auto-update.
I hope it gets fixed soon
Microsoft Office versions 2016 (updated), 2019, and 365 all work with Catalina. What version are you running?
I have same issue on mac book pro mid 2015, using latest MS word version (16.30) on Manila catalina (macOS 10.15), any text selection freeze the whole macOS environment for at least 10 seconds. Records are created in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports saying that WORD app "triggers GPU reset" .... very annoying problem that seems not to be always reproducible on more recent MacBooks Pro... seems a real WORD problem.
FYI: Seems to have been fixed in the latest Office update. Haven't experienced the same issue since Word 16.31.

Catalina doesn't support 32bit Apps as Bob told.
I am using Office 365, fully updated, and the freezing of Word & Excel is very bothersome with Catwalina. If I could, i Would go back to Mojave. When will this be fixed?
Same problem here! Works fine on my macbook pro 2018, but on my mac book pro mid 2015 is constantly freezing while writing or editing microsoft word documents.
