Toyota and Bluetooth,, very frustrating !!!!!

I own a 2017 Toyota Tacoma and with my iPhone 11 and iOS 13 and even the 13.1.3 update I still can’t get a Bluetooth connection with my Tacoma that doesn’t disconnect calls after about 60 seconds or drop my Bluetooth connection after about 60 seconds.

Even though I know it an iOS 13 software issue I’ve done all the typical possible Bluetooth fix try’s but nothing works.

I’ve also read that I’m not the only owner of a Toyota vehicle that can’t use Bluetooth with an iPhone running iOS 13, the Toyota Bluetooth issue seems to be widespread.

This is just beyond infuriating as I very much depend on my Bluetooth for doing business as I’m driving.

So I guess my questions are:

Is Apple aware of the Toyota Bluetooth fail ?

Does Apple care ?

Is Apple really working on a fix ?

When might a fix happen ?

Thanks in advance, Cheers, Davyo

I have a similar problem with my new iPhone 11 compatibility with my Toyota Tacoma, DBL. Cab, 4X4 Truck! I went to the dealership and they said, thyey would order me another system for my vehicle. When they installed it, I checked and left the lot for about a mile and the phone, radio system all shut down on me again. This has been happening for the last 6 weeks. I recently spoke and argues with Apple, who after talking to two different people , and finally a supervisor. She stated that the only way, was to purchase Apple's Car play. I was shocked and appalled. I told her I wasn't interested in purchasing a new system for my Truck, I've spent my hard earn money, with a system all ready! She gave me the "song and dance, that the engineers were working on it, getting all the kinks out and and getting out an update! When I asked her when, she simply told me she'd get back to me, took my email address and phone number. I told her I hope Apple's Billion dollar corporation can afford to get out an update, just like they rip the consumer, on buying their new Iphones, etc.! I advised her, Apple's engineers should work thru Christmas and get the update out soon!

In conclusion, You like many of us, are not the only ones, going thru this needless torment! The more people get on board on regarding this matter, Apple will be forced to come out with an update sooner, than later! Keep you posted!

how about since 12.2. I have even had the radio replaced - twice (it's still under warranty). I even get an "this device is an unsupported device" I have been told to replace the USB cable - which is hilarious as this was bluetoothed not cabled.

BTW the State of Texas is a designated hands free zone. Meaning I am not supposed to have the phone in my hands while driving - so technically this problem is creating a criminal culture. Yeah we aren't supposed to drive down the road yelling into our cell phone.

I’m having the same problem with my 2017 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. Phone connects. Nav unit boots up. Every minute the system keeps rebooting. When I turn my iPhone 7+ Bluetooth off, the Toyota display works normally.

I have not had this problem up until I updated the iPhone software to iOS 13.2.

No fixes ive read about will work.

Hope Apple and Toyota will do something to fix this problem.
