Help with Bluetooth sync from MacBook Air M2 and iPhone SE 2nd Generation.

iPhone SE 2nd Gen and M2 MacBook Air - 'My BMW' app on iPhone and also on Desktop Widget in Sonoma not syncing via Bluetooth. Running Sonoma 14.1 and iPhone running iOS 17.1

Error msg on MBA - On Sonoma widget it displays ‘Please select a supported BMW in the My BMW app’. When I select this widget a second message shows ‘Open My BMW app on iPhone to continue’.  When I open the app nothing happens - there is no sync between iPhone and MBA.

Error msg on iPhone shows 'Pairing Unsuccessful - (my) MBA not supported.'

Both iPhone and MBA on same network, Bluetooth is discoverable.

Anyone had this or similar problem? Or is my iPhone too old??
