Using a USB-C stick with the latest iPad Pro

Hello guys,

First question here as I have managed to solve any other issue or question thanks to this community.

I just bought a SanDisk dual stick (with USB and USB-C connection) to use with my latest iPad Pro 12.9, thanks to the new feature of the Files App.

The issue is that I am not able to read it, I am connecting it and it does not show anything in "Locations". I have seen many people in videos using the same one, it was formatted with FAT32, I formatted to ExFAT and nothing changed.

Any idea or experience about this? Thanks a bunch.

Hello,

Most likely your drive is formatted in a way that is not compatible with iPad.

iPadOS 13 supports the following disk formats with a GUID partition scheme:

  • macOS Extended journaled — YES Read and Write
  • APFS - YES Read and Write
  • FAT32 — NO
  • exFAT — NO
  • NTFS — NO
