How Does iPad 4 Get Systems Update/Upgrade

I have just seen a newsfeed that very old iPhones and iPads need to get the latest systems update or device will break if not done before the coming weekend.

Devices like iPhone 5 and iPad 4 and older.

Now, if Apple stop supporting these devices, how is this going to be received.

I am studying right now and I accepted just over a month ago that I could not install particular apps I need for my study, but it has not stopped me studying, though it seems now that Apple is going to stop my studies in one way or another if can't continue to use my device or leave my home to buy a new device and then have no where to study in peace, but I know I won't get help with my student loan.

If this update is true, where is it.

I would like a reply because as far as I have understanding, these old devices no longer receive updates

Dear DocileMeerkat

Thank you for your reply

Yes, my last update was IOS 10.3.3, so I was quite surprised to here that an update was being delivered for my age device and older.

I can only view that the post must of been a hoax, but if it isn't and I don't get the update that will allow me to keep on working.

I would be one vex hard worker for nothing.

That's why I thought it best to state my issue here.

Thanks again DM
